# SAT stock qualification and formal-test intake **Status:** Administrative/material-identity gate; no stock is qualified by this document alone **Owner and approval authority:** Tristan ## Purpose and boundary This record separates the exploratory `SAT-HM-001` process rehearsal from the documented stock required for formal PCM test cells. It establishes identity, traceability, documentation, storage, and incoming-condition disposition. It does not claim purity, hydration, thermal performance, or crystallization performance beyond the supplier documentation and observations recorded below. Do not use household `SAT-HM-001` recovery as the formal pure-SAT control unless Tristan later authorizes a separately documented qualification route. Formal cells continue to require suitably documented stock. ## Required intake record | Field | Record | |---|---| | Stock ID | | | Supplier | | | Product name / catalogue number | | | Lot or batch | | | CAS | `6131-90-4` | | Explicit identity | Sodium acetate **trihydrate** (`CH3COONa·3H2O`) | | Grade / assay | | | SDS filename and revision/date | | | CoA availability/status | Available / requested / unavailable; filename if available | | Supplier hydrate/water specification | Stated value or not supplied | | Received date | | | Package size and condition | | | Storage condition on receipt | | | Storage label applied | | | Incoming visual condition | | | Reviewer / date | | The current Alphachem SDS is retained under `Chemistry/SDS/`, but its revision is historical. Request current lot-specific documentation before accepting a new stock for formal work. ## Incoming condition and disposition Inspect the unopened package and record the result. Reject or quarantine stock with a missing identity, damaged or wet packaging, unlabelled material, unexpected colour or odour, visible foreign matter, or any contamination or damage that could compromise traceability. Do not invent an analytical assay that the current laboratory cannot perform. | Check | Result / evidence | |---|---| | Label explicitly identifies sodium acetate trihydrate | | | CAS and supplier identity agree | | | Lot/batch is legible and retained | | | Grade/assay and hydrate/water statement recorded | | | SDS revision recorded | | | CoA status recorded | | | Package seal, dryness, and cleanliness acceptable | | | No visible contamination, damage, or unexplained material | | | Storage label and location recorded | | Choose exactly one disposition after review: - **Accepted for formal baseline** — identity and documentation are adequate; stock ID is linked to every SAT-0 specimen record. - **Exploratory only** — useful for rehearsal or nonformal work, but missing documentation or condition evidence prevents formal baseline use. - **Rejected** — identity, packaging, contamination, or damage is unacceptable; quarantine and record the reason. ## SAT-0 linkage No SAT-0 specimen record is created by intake alone. Once a stock is accepted, record the stock ID in the PCM-cell campaign record and link the resulting `SAT-0` specimen IDs here: | Stock ID | SAT-0 specimen/campaign record | Date linked | Reviewer | |---|---|---|---| | | | | | Formal-cell qualification remains incomplete until the separate approved [`../PCM_Cells/NanoArc_PCM_Test_Cell_Qualification_Rev0.md`](../PCM_Cells/NanoArc_PCM_Test_Cell_Qualification_Rev0.md) gates pass. This intake record must not be read as completed experimental evidence.
